What are they?
‘Area Youth Forums’ are meetings that take place across the city, where young people meet with their peers and Manchester City Council youth workers.
Young people share their ideas and views about their local area, including what they would like to change or improve.
Who is this for?
People aged 11-18 years old (or up to 25 years old if you are a care leaver or have a special educational need or disability.) You must live or attend school or college in Manchester.
How does it work?
Meetings take place in venues across Manchester in the early evening.
Generally, the first stage is where young people decide on a cause that is important to them and what they want to change.
At the follow-up meeting/s, the young people and youth workers come together to form a plan, and where needed, the youth workers will find funding to bring the ideas to life or create opportunities for you to work together with decision makers.
Why should I get involved?
You can meet new people and make your community and city a better place to live.
When are where do meetings take place?
Meetings take place in North, South, East and Central Manchester, and Wythenshawe.
