Global Intergenerational Week runs from 24 – 30 April 2025. It’s a worldwide campaign that highlights the importance of people of all ages coming together to form important and lasting relationships.
In Manchester there are projects and activities happening across the city, connecting residents of all generations – not just during Intergenerational Week – but all year long.

Here’s some activities happening across the city, where residents of all ages can spend time together:
IT Skills Sharing
Didsbury Good Neighbours, Didsbury Library and Barlow High School have partnered to offer free, weekly drop-in sessions where year 9 and 10 pupils are ‘buddied up’ with older people to help them with their IT skills. The young people can help with anything from how to use WhatsApp, to online shopping, to organising a camera roll. It’s also a nice opportunity to chat.
Drop in on Wednesdays, 12.30-1.15pm at Didsbury Library.
King William Angling Society at Boggart Hole Clough
Bring Your Grandparents Fishing Day is an opportunity to learn how to fish with the angling society. All equipment, bate and hooks are provided free of charge. Suitable for ages 8 and up. It’s a great way to spend quality time with family, relax, and learn a skill.
Saturday 26 April, half hour slots between 10am – 1pm. (And Saturdays until September.) Book a slot in advance, by calling 07508348669. It takes place at the fishing pond at Boggart Hole Clough.
