Child Friendly Manchester ambassadors are individuals and organisations supporting Manchester’s ambition to become a UNICEF Child-Friendly City as we work together to put children’s rights into practice. With their help, together we will build a safe, happy, healthy and successful future for Manchester’s children and young people.

 

Co-creating Opportunities ‘with’ and ‘for’ Young People in Manchester

 

  • HOME is a vibrant arts organisation in the centre of Manchester. With 5 cinema’s, 2 theatres and gallery spaces. Through our creative work we strive to increase access to art and culture, improve health and wellbeing, amplify unheard voices and support people to tell their own stories through their own artistic creations.

 

  • At HOME we have embedded the 7 Principles of a Child Rights Based Approach within our engagement strategy. Working with our local communities, schools and young people across the city to co-create socially engaged work.
  • Young People – We deliver long term creative programmes that promote health and wellbeing, build transferable skills and increase life chances – Programmes include – HOME Young Company – Young Artist Studio – Young Film Collective – BFI Film Academy

 

  • Community Engagement – Our community engagement programme ‘Home from HOME’ delivers creative programmes and shares work within our local communities, reaching young people in who wuldn’t usually access our opportunities in community and youth settings across the city.

 

  • Schools and Creative Careers – We strive to develop opportunities for every child and every school in Manchester to access art and culture – Programmes include – Linking Schools Project – Schools Tours – Schools Offers

 

  • Early Years and Families – Making families welcome and part of HOME – Creativity Corner is our fun family friendly area with access to free arts and craft activities – Creative Tiny Humans is our free artist led family session (takes place on the last Friday of the month)
